Three Idiots

The upcoming  Rajkumar Hirani’s film Three Idiots has some rocking numbers like All Izz Well and Zoobi Doobi, most of the songs of this movie are sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal.

This movie stars  Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor in the lead role and also has a special appearance by Kajol.

Shantanu Moitra has given such excellent tunes to the movie. The film is scheduled to release by Dec, 2009.

Shukran Allah…..

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan starring Kurbaan(2009) has very refreshing music given by Salim- Sulaiman and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.  Shukran Allah is one of the very romantic number from the movie. It is sung by Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal and Salim Merchant. The title track Kurbaan Hua sung by Vishal Dadlani also sounds great.

Vivek Oberai and Dia Mirza will also be seen in this Rensil D’Silva film.  This is a story about a terrorist who marries a girl and settles abroad to cover his identity and then keeps her in house arrest.

These off screen lovers will be giving extremely sensuous scenes on screen too.

Don’t say alvida….

Prem Soni‘s Main Aur Mrs. Khanna is going to be the next release of Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan together, after Kyonki. This movie has a romantic number Don’t say alvida, sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal.

And there is an item number Happening….I am happening by Preity Zinta. This song is sung by Sunidhi Chouhan, Wajid, Farhad and Raja Mushtaq.

The story is about extra marital affair and problems between the married couple. Sohail Khan has an  important role to play and Govinda plays the role of Salman’s friend. The movie is scheduled to release on 16 October 2009.

Bebo

Kareena Kapoor became one of the first actresses to have a song based on her.

Alisha Chinoi sang Bebo which was featured in Kambakht Ishq.

Whether this will be extended to other actresses is a question mark.

Kambakht Ishq Music

Kambakht Ishq is all set to be one of the biggest releases of 2009. While Kareena and Akshay‘s scorching exchanges got women’s groups grinding their teeth, the movie’s posters are provocative.

The Hollywood stars add to it’s appeal.

Kambakht Ishq wallpapers are nicely designed and have been doing the rounds on the net for quite sometime now.

And another element which is a big factor for the movie’s success is music.

The music director is Annu Malik and the host of singers include RDB, Neeraj Shridhar, Alisha Chinai, KK, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shaan and Shreya Ghosal. With four originals and four remixes it offers the listeners songs like Alisha Chinai‘s Bebo, the title track Kambakth Ishq and Om Mangalam. Kyun by Shaan and Shreya Ghosal is lovely.

99 which came after a long dry spell is yet another movie that falls into the new age Bollywood cinema category. The star cast was refreshing as opposed to the over exposed lot of Bollywood like Kareena Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and the lot.

Kunal Khemu, Soha Ali Khan and Cyrus Broacha, along with Vinod Khanna and Boman Irani made an interesting mix.

The music also kept the same pace and mix.  Have a listen!

Rain Songs

The summer rains are stealing all the sunshine. They have always been an inspiration for Bollywood.

Here are some of those perfect rain songs –

1942 A Love Story – Rim Jhim – The song is picturised on Anil Kapoor and Manisha Koirala and their budding romance.

Chameli – Bhaage Re Mann Kahin – The prostitute with a heart Chameli, played by Kareena Kapoor, charms Rahul Bose with her rain dance.

Satya – Geela Geela Pani – Urmila Matondkar, clad in a saree, jumps into puddles and everything else that has Satya drooling.

Maachis – Pani Pani Re – Soulful and haunting, the song is around Tabu.

Incidentally, the music for both Satya and Maachis was composed by Maqbool‘s Vishal Bharadwaj.

And Mere Khwabon Mein from DDLJ, though a dream theme, it has Kajol prancing in the rain.

Anu Malik

Anu Malik is a well known music composer. He also sings.

He has composed for movies like Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol‘s Baazigar in which he also sang the catchy, fast paced number Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen.

Border won accolades for it’s music with songs like Sandese Aate Hai and Aye Jaatein Huye Lamhon.

The music for the Aishwarya Rai starrrer Josh was edgy. Kalyug,  Victory and the latest big banner Kambakkth Ishq with Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor, are some other examples of his work.

Apart from movies, he also brought out music albums like Dekho Baarish Ho Rahi Hai.

Sunidhi Chauhan

Sunidhi Chauhan is one of the youngest voices in Bollywood. She is the voice behind some the  most popular songs in movies.

Bhaage Re Mann from Chameli captured the romance of the rains and was shot with Kareena Kapoor dancing in the rain.

Dhoom Machale from Dhoom packed a punch with Esha Deol on stage.

In the sequel Dhoom 2 she sang Crazy Kiya Re which was picturised around Aishwarya Rai.

Pyar Ki Ek Kahani Suno in Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd had Minnisha Lamba and Abhay Deol in a tango-ish dance.

In Desi Girl from Dostana she was the singing voice for Priyanka Chopra.

Dance Pe Chance in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi saw the new star Anushka Sharma shaking a leg.

The Singing Stars

Bollywood actors are not a content lot, are they? Their talents include but refuses to be restricted to acting. They sing too as they bask in variegated glory. And sometimes not.

As far as voice power goes, none can beat Amitabh Bachhan as he growls, soothes, mocks and commands. No stranger to playback singing, his songs are a rage by virtue of that distinctive voice. Mere Angne Mein from Laawaris, the colourful Rang Barse from Silsila never fail to delight.

Abhishek Bacchan crooned the totally chilled out Right Here Right Now in Bluffmaster and Dilbara in Dhoom. Aamir Khan’s attempts were popular too from the attitude-y Aati Kya Kandala? in Ghulaam to the gleeful Bum Bum Bole in Taare Zameen Par.

Shah Rukh Khan tried to figure  out how to woo his woman with Apun Bola in Josh with Aishwarya Rai and Paan Banaraswaala in Don – The Chase Begins Again and then there was Chak De India.

Joining the bandwagon is Akshay Kumar, after the title track of Singh Is Kinng with Snoop Dog, he is rapping with Bohemia in Chandni Chowk to China.

The ladies weren’t far behind. Sridevi giggled and sang the girlish Chandni and Kareena Kapoor has done her share with Jab Nahin Aaye Tum in Dev and Mein Prem Ki Deewani Hoon.
