Mohit Chauhan

Mohit Chauhan has become one of the leading singer of Bollywood after giving several hits like “Tum Se Hi” from Jab We Met, “Masakali” from Delhi6, “Tu Ne Jo Na Kaha” from New York, “Ye dooriyan” from Love Aaj Kal, “Pehli Baar Mohabbat Ki Hai” from Kaminey and more.

The singer belongs to Himachal Pradesh, during the early part of his career he used to sing with a band named Silk Route.  Boondein and Pehchan were two of his albums with this band. In 2008 he made his solo album Kalam. The most melodious ghazal sung by him was “Guncha Koi” from Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh.

Mohit’s latest song is “Is Jahaan Mein” from Emran Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan starrer Tum Mile(2009).

Atif Aslam

Atif Aslam is giving hits one after the other, he has a very different and  soothing voice which touches ones heart directly. He is one of those young singer who has achieved great height in a short span of time.

Previously he gave hit numbers like Aadat, Woh Lamhe, and Meri Kahani. He started his career performing at the college canteen and formed a band named Jal, and performed Pakistani Band, Junoon and Strings songs at  concerts.

His first solo album was Jal Pari and the second  one was Doorie. Atifs third album Meri Kahani released in 2008.  Some of his songs like Paheli nazar mein  from Race and Bakhuda tumhi ho from Kismat Konnection are worth mentioning. His latest song’s Tera hone laga hu and Tu jane na from the upcoming movie Ajab prem ki gajab kahani are picturised on Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor. Both of these numbers are amazingly sung.

Melodious and Soul-lifting

Chances are you’re already bored of this song, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s awesome!

Sung by Neeraj Shridhar (of Bombay Vikings), the song is romantic without being boring and mushy. It’s really difficult to find tracks that are soothing to the soul, yet catchy. But the title track of Tum Mile is a lovely blend of fun and romance.

The film stars Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan. The music has been composed by Pritam. Time will tell us if this tune is original, or as always he’s nicked it from some Indonesian or other South Asian country’s song.

Don’t worry!

Everyone seems to like “Fiqrana”, the latest song from Blue. But it’s surprising that most people don’t know what the word really means…does it mean to worry? Or not to worry? Go figure:P

The song is beautiful, that’s for sure. Abbas Tyrewala has done complete justice to A R Rehman’s soulful tune. He’s struck gold again with this album. Good job Mr Rehman.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a great singer whose singing can give life to a dead person.  This qawwali singer has impressed everyone with his ghazals and has given  new light to Bollywood music.  After the death of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan his nephew Rahat has taken his place.

Rahat has sung for a number of movies starting with Laagi tumse mann ki lagan in John Abraham‘s Paap (2004), Tujhe dekh dekh sona from Kalyug (2005) and many more. He sang one song for Madhuri Dixit‘s come back film Aaja Nachle (2007) and the song Teri ore picturised on Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar from Singh Is Kinng (2008).

For the  Sharukh Khan starrer Billu Barber (2009) he has lent his voice and the most recent one is Ajj Din Chadiya from Love Aaj Kal(2009). All the songs by him become so memorable that even if one forgets about the movie in which the songs are, one would never forget the songs.
