Soundtracks send out a clear signal about whether the movie is a hit or not.  And going my the response Love Aaj Kal songs are eliciting it will be  a surefire hit.

Imtiaz Ali has joined hands yet again with Pritam to get the tunes just right for Chote Nawab Saif Ali Khan‘s first home production. There’s a lot of guitar and Punjabi flavour.

Twist and Ahun Ahun are both sung by Neeraj Shridhar and both are intertwined with other songs. Chor Bazari is the kind of song that stays with you. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan‘s Aaj Din Chadeyya is blissful and you can lose yourself in it.

Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan look promising together and we  even get to see the dapper Rahul Khanna in a cameo.

The New York songs reflect this ambition. Hai Junoon is the ‘fun with friends’ song. KK gets the tone right on this one. We have Sunidhi Chauhan singing a song about friends with Mere Sang. Mohit Chauhan takes over with Tu Jo Na Kaha and Pankaj Awasthi with Aaye Saaye Mere. There are two theme songs by Julis Pakiam.

At a time when experimenting is all the rage, this one stays on the tried and tested track.

Paying Guest Music

June 18, 2009

The music for Paying Guests is mediocre and does not stand out. SajidWajid are the music directors who did a far better job in Partner and Welcome.

The Paying Guest movie songs have been sung by talented voices like Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Sonu Nigam.

Songs include Paying Guest, Jack and Jill, Nazar Se Nazaria and Ya Rabula Rabbi.

Kambakht Ishq Music

June 16, 2009

Kambakht Ishq is all set to be one of the biggest releases of 2009. While Kareena and Akshay‘s scorching exchanges got women’s groups grinding their teeth, the movie’s posters are provocative.

The Hollywood stars add to it’s appeal.

Kambakht Ishq wallpapers are nicely designed and have been doing the rounds on the net for quite sometime now.

And another element which is a big factor for the movie’s success is music.

The music director is Annu Malik and the host of singers include RDB, Neeraj Shridhar, Alisha Chinai, KK, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shaan and Shreya Ghosal. With four originals and four remixes it offers the listeners songs like Alisha Chinai‘s Bebo, the title track Kambakth Ishq and Om Mangalam. Kyun by Shaan and Shreya Ghosal is lovely.

Dostana

dostana2

Dostana 2 is on it’s way out and was just reminiscing about good old Dostana. The music was so completely in tune with the movie.

It was fun and spirited, beginning with Shut Up & Bounce and moving onto Desi Girl and Kuch Kam.

The voices of Vishal Dadlani, Sunidhi Chauhan, Saleem and Shaan worked well on the songs.

The band broke off but Manchanda stayed on and landed a good many songs in Tamil and Hindi movies.

[UNSET]

She started with Manmadhan‘s O Mahirae and also sang the title track of Golmaal which starred Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi and Sharman Joshi.

Cash‘s Naughty Naughty was a catch tune.

O Sexy Mama from the Madhavan starrer 13B was caught by the censor board but still ruled the air waves for a while.
